Expectations for in-class presentation of film.

 

 

Preparation: You are prepared for presentation. You are able to answer all (reasonable) questions and you are ready to present on your assigned day.

 

Effective use of Time: Your presentation fills the class period and does not go over time. Your choice of what sections to present supports your view of the film.

 

Three Essay Questions: You have prepared and printed out three questions that would work as an assignment for this class.

 

Analysis: You present a coherent analysis of the film and are able to support this analysis with quotes and specific references to the film.

 

Genre: You are able to identify the genre in which this film belongs. You are able to site other films in this genre. You identify characteristics of this genre.

 

The Director: You are able to identify the work of the director, citing specific instance in the film and how this specific work fits in the artist’s oeuvre.

 

In Relation: You are able to put the piece into a historical context, citing relevant events in the world in relation to this film. Additionally, you can point out how this film reflects the time period in which it was made.

 

Original Acclaim: You can speak to the original reception of the film, including awards, nominations and placement on such lists as the AFI’s Top 100.

 

Process: You are able to give us some insight into the artistic process.

 

Works Cited: A detailed and accurate works cited page reflects your research.
