The possibilities are endless. Here are 15 birthday prompts.

 

  • Write a monologue in which a character prepares to take a potion on their birthday so they'll never get older.

  •  

  • Write a monologue in which a character is on the eve of an important birthday. What is their emotional state and why? What does this specific birthday mean?

  •  

  • Write a scene in which two parents try to convince their child to come out of their room for their birthday party. Why has the child locked themself in their room? What do the parents do to convince the child? Who wins in the end?

  • Write the monologue of the child in the above scenario, as they sit in their room.
